Trend of developments on electronic paper and its prospect for applications

Abstract

Electronic paper is expected as a promising readable medium that joints both merits of the paper and the display. This new medium is also expected to be used for the electronic newspaper and the electronic book; its developments are now eagerly carried on. This paper covers overviews on targets, trend of development, and application fields for electronic paper. Experimental studies on readability are also introduced; this kind of study is expected to lead us to know how to achieve comfortable media with ideal readability. Original article in Chinese.
