A new shape feature extraction method for leaf image retrieval

Abstract

In this paper we present an algorithm for extracting features for leaf identification. Contour-based shape feature extraction is one of the important research contents in content based image retrieval. We introduce the hybrid method which is a combination of threshold and Sobel segmentation algorithm and extract the feature. The experimental results show that the proposed method has better performance. © 2013 Springer.
