Abstract

Wings are one of the most important organs for insects. Acquisition of wings made it possible for insects to conquer and to invade various environments of the earth. The role of the wings in insect evolution is not overestimated. Various evolutionary traces in insects might have been imprinted in their wings in diverse modes and to varying degrees.
