Abstract

A brief discussion of some possibilities resulting from treating geographical spaces as cells in a regular array, and which can be referred to in the language of matrix algebra. Using cellular methods in land use study, for example, five types of model can be determined. The discussion focuses on rules for transition of function of cells within an array.-J.Welford
