Abstract

A method of evaluating the accuracy of fault diagnosis based on a signed directed graph is described, utilizing the greatest sets of candidates. An acetic acid manufacturing process is taken as an example to show the usefulness of this method and to compare it with the method of evaluation of accuracy utilizing the envelope set of candidates. This can be applied to the problem of optimal sensor location and the decisionmaking system for emergencies of a chemical plant. © 1989, The Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan.
