Abstract

The present paper addresses the use of numerical control (CNC) control equipment to support the training of professionals for industry in Portugal. The typical architecture of these equipment is approached, possible strategies of resources optimization is presented considering the design of low cost equipment, as didactic resource for training. Also the importance of this approach for learning operation, maintenance and design of industrial CNC machine tools is emphasized, and the work being done at the University of Minho is around this subject is depicted.
