Abstract

The alternating vortex will shed from the circular cylinder when air-water two-phase fluid flows across it, and the pressure-difference fluctuates in its two sides. The fast dynamic response pressure-difference sensor and the high speed and large capacity data acquisition system were used to measure the pressure-difference fluctuation signal in two sides of the circular cylinder, at three section void fractions α, 0, 0.05 and 0.1, and the vortex shedding PSD characteristics were got under the DFT transformation. The results showed that: within the experimental condition, the vortex shedding intensity will be weakened in two sides of the circular cylinder with the void fraction increasing, and at α reaching 0.1, the obvious wave peak has disappear in the PSD profile, and the random fluctuation appears.
