Abstract

Several probe based algorithms have been proposed for deadlock detection and resolution in distributed environment. These algorithms work only in fault free environment. This paper proposes an enhanced probe algorithm by using colored probes to work under faulty environment also. The objective of this algorithm is that the initiator is always informed about the status of the probe, deadlock or otherwise. This increases the reliability. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
