Abstract

This paper proposed a livestock activity monitoring system using acceleration sensor that notifies the livestock condition via PC and smart devices to users upon monitoring the activities of livestock in real-time by attaching Acceleration sensor to livestock. The proposed system provides the disease prediction service that determines disease by examining the condition of livestock based on their measured activities. The lack of prevention and early response that results from the failure of early detection of livestock disease leads to financial loss for farms, and it could lead to even national crisis situation when disease spreads across the country. It is expected that this system can prevention damages to farms and the country by minimizing the damages from diseases by accurately predicting livestock diseases. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.
