Abstract

Facial hemangiomas present a special challenge for the medical profession. Nowadays parents are better informed via the world wide web and through patient support groups, leading them to demand the greatest attention and state of the art treatment for their child. Parents are faced with their children's disfigurement daily and they experience the rapid growing vascular tumor as an increasing problem in their interactions with each other, their child and the community. In this chapter we address the different presentations of facial hemangiomas and the diagnostics and different state of the art treatment modalities available. © 2009 Springer-Verlag Milan.
