Abstract

A fuzzy method using in voltage and reactive power control in electric substation is proposed based on the improved 17 Areas Method derived from 9 Areas Method. A simulation model is founded with fuzzy control rules used the Matlab simulink. The simulation results indicate that voltage of the model with fuzzy control is less fluctuating and much steadier than the system without fuzzy control. As well as, the regulated times at the tap positions of transformers in substation are much less than usual. So, applying fuzzy method rules on voltage and reactive power control can enhance static and transient stability and extend the life-tithe of the devices in power system.
