Abstract

Ulcerative colitis (UC) is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the intestine, which involves rectum and extends proximally in a continuous manner and presents commonly with colicky abdominal pain and bloody diarrhea. The entire colon may be involved in advanced cases (Table 4.10.1). © 2010 Springer-Verlag London.
