Abstract

The paper presents the results of the authors' studies which consisted in implementation of network oriented manufacturing structures. New paradigm of modern (flexible/agile) production is sketched. The manufacturing systems and models are described. The manufacturing systems and their structures should be made from components (modules) occurring in various organizations, which are nodes of a cooperation network. Creating the structure for the specific conditions and parameters of flow is only possible if the best organization of flow can be selected. This can be determined with use of simulation modeling. Such modern structural systems supported by appropriate software are often called e-manufacturing. The results of researches performed in 15 enterprises are presented in paper. Basic components and additional key tools for the proper functioning of e-manufacturing are identified. Finally the conclusions and proposition of integration organized in the form of e-manufacturing is presented. © 2010 Springer-Verlag.
