Export your working documents to enable collaboration with colleagues, or to finalise your paper.
view all guidesIf you intend to share your working document with colleagues who use different word processing software, you may need to export your document in a different file format.
For example, Libre Office uses the OpenDocument Text format (.odt) which isn’t compatible with some other editors. You can therefore use the Mendeley Citation Tool plugin to export into Word Document format (.doc) from the Libre Office plugin.
When you click the ‘Export MS Word Compatible’ button on the toolbar, you’ll be prompted to save your working document as a .doc file on your computer.
You can also use the Export menu to save a version of your working paper without the Mendeley code elements present. This can be used to finalise the file ahead of submission.
